teeny tiny tutorial that I promised in an earlier post.
Here is a little guide on how I did my DIY-lashes.
I personally prefer to wear clusters underneath my lashes..
1.it is quicker to apply
2.it is more flexible because there is no long band
3.it feels more lightweight
4.no worrying about if its not glued right and you can tell when eyes closed.
so I walk it through with you.
A lot of the clusters I have already tried are either too short for my taste, or they lack the volume I crave. Technically, I absolutely loved wearing Corset by Kiss a few years ago...I was just a little discontent how short they were. So I wanted to emulate something similiar, but longer.
So this is the design...you can see in the little picture on the right side that it features multiple levels to create the volume. What I did is to analyze the look of the lashes first.
Since it is synchronously, I don't need to have several different pieces for this look.
All you can tell is that the pieces inside are longer than those in the outer corners.
There are thicker pieces that are shaped like triangles and thin lashes inbetween each triangle with the same length.
Everything else is pretty much just volume by adding more short lashes underneath.
Here a little drawing to emphasize what I mean:
I have drawn the map on the lash now.
There are the triangles and the single ones with approx. the same length inbetween.
So I knew I need to look for lashes with the look like the pink drawing or something close.
I got them from Groinneya on AliExpress now.
I chose TYG01 and TYP01
I went for TYG01 as a base to create the volume for the overall look.
I thought I chose 14mm, but apparently I picked the 11mm.
Doesn't really matter tbh, they are just supposed to make the foundation and for that the length is perfect.
I chose the TYP01 that are shorter in width but extremely thick in the middle to apply it to the TYG01, give it a dollier look and enhance thickness in the middle. On the screenshot you can see the mixed one but there are whole packages with one length and I chose 14mm,16mm and 18mm. I am going to be honest with you: Although I was super hyper for the 18mm, they are too long for my taste. Instead of dolly, they look feathery. It looks like spider legs, that's how a colleague called them haha. They give a more alt-taste to the look, which I do not want.
For doing the DIY you need a tweezer like mine on the picture. You get one as a gift when you get the lashes from the offer I linked in the top (Yes I have 5 tweezers now lmao).
It is also a lot more practical to apply them on your lashes with a tweezer that is shaped like that.
Oh and you need a transparent lash glue, I use the one from Kiss.
So technically I need 4 clusters per eye. Please check the width of your lashes to see how many clusters you need. Since these are a little wider, four are all that fit for me. You can take one cluster and hold them against your eye to grossly guess what could fit. I let them sit in the packaging like that, it makes it easier to apply the TYP01 on top, and apply lash glue on all of them.
I then take out the TYP01 from their packaging (below a video how to do that safely without ruining the cluster). I place them on top and with the tip of my tweezer gently push them down. I try to get them in the middle as much as possible to get them pointy, enhance the thickness in the middle and try to make the bands overlap. They might not be fixed yet, so you have to correct a few times I guess.
In the upper picture I have shown you 4 cluster for each eye and the TYP01 placed on top with 14mm outside and 16mm inside for length.
I then grab them out of the packaging (like in the video), make sure squeeze them together and place it in my lash case.
This is the best I could do to film it close-up.
Here at the bottom the finished result:
In the middle are some ready to go clusters that I have used in my first tutorial which you can buy just like that. When you compare them both you can see that mine have a lot more volume to it.
I guess it is all a matter of taste and I would be excited to try a different combo sometime but for now I am super happy with these results and use them daily.
Depending on how often you use them (and if you remove them daily) it might last you a week or two..you cannot clean them and reuse...so I use the same for approx. a week and then they are completely glued together and fall apart already. Then I make a new pair.
I hope I explained it well enough.
