requesting a passport

Yesterday I decided to just add some selfies to my about me page that I plan to update every now and then with my favourite pictures of myself.
If you want to take a look at it.

I also created this cute lil blingeee..
feel free to use it if you are also a casual blogger.

I asked my colleague yesterday how long it will take until they finish a passport after requesting and he said he thinks it will take 12-16 weeks and I almost got a heart attack, that's too late!
so I figured I might have to take an express one but since I have a day off I decided I finally have to go now.
I woke up at 8 to be able to eat breakfast with my mum.
She still had one of her potatoe fritters left.
She would put tomatoe slices on top with cheese spread and bake it in the oven.
I put it on a slice of bread for breakfast.

It looks unspectacular on the pic but it's very yummy.
I then went to make myself ready.
The townhall is only open until 12.

Setup(top+bottom)...Aliexpress
tights....forgot
Boots....Catwalk/Deichmann
Coat...River Island
Bag...Emily&Noah
Hat...C&A
Bear...souvenir from my Mallorca trip

since it is just a 5 minute drive back and forth I didn't feel like styling up too much.
The skirt has sewn-in pants but the material is verrry thin and I didn't have any thick tights I wanted to wear today so I wore some additional shorts underneath. To warm up the code a bit I went for the high black boots. I figured the boots will be too "rough" for the cute fit so I rounded it with a black coat and a hat.
The bag is the one I take daily to work but I added my cutie bear keychain to spice it up a bit.

pretty much my go to make..I used my forever flawless palette again.
I tried the gloss from romand #06 deepen moor the first time.
It is a pretty nude color with a slightly mauve shade to it.

When I went into the townhall she told me it only takes 4-6 weeks!
I thought about making a normal one instead of an express one.
She told me that if I would request an express one after the normal, I would have wasted my money because it had to be destroyed.
I am traveling in May, that's 4 months!
No risk no fun, I requested the normal one now.
If it really takes longer and I haven't received the one until like around April, I will make another express one just in case.

I wanted to go buy some tights when I was already around.
The ones I bought the last time are TRASH.
I can't remember which ones I had bought one time in a local shop..I don't find them anymore, the quality was just as good as the pale ones from Ali.
I desperately need ones, my pale ones are wayyy too light now.
The ones they have on Ali are either too pale again or like super bronze...which are too dark.
And in the local shops they all have just like 10/20den...they are too thin for winter and immediately break.
I also picked the wrong size..I took on one of them and my butt made it rip all over my buttcheeks.
It's crazy how expensive they are here...I saw some pretty ones in a black-brown sheer optic with tiny hearts on it...22,95€!!
I can get ones like these for like 10€ on Aliexpress...even cheaper.
The problem with the ones on Ali are really just the color..

These are the ones I took now.
the one on the left is 4,95€ and the ones on the right are 3,95€.
I was insecure about getting the caramel color but there weren't any other.
I figured that I will get the blacks, so I finally have some tights to wear and try only one in caramel.
I refuse to pay so much for tights that will just rip...these are 40den so they should be thick enough.

I also got some restocks
I am not satisfied with the heroine eyeliner and neither with the others I had got myself over the past months. They are all too "dry" to properly work.
I found an old one in my makeup box from nyx were the tip is completely ruined.
This is the only eyeliner that is pigmented enough. Making the tip of the wing sharp was difficult the past days because like I said it's ruined and when I saw they sold it (AND THE PACKAGING IS SEALED) I had to get it!!!
This is also my makeup remover...it is the only one I use.
I use it pretty much like a normal cleanser with some water.
I do not wipe. It removes everything, even waterproof, very quickly without irritation with just one round. I triple cleanse in the evening: makeup remover, oil cleanser, water-based cleanser.

I restocked my Dove in Macadamia, I had only one left with the pomegranate scent.
The shower gel that I have ordered from yesstyle is comfortable but there is not much difference to the other kind of shower gels that I can get for cheaper here in the local shops.
It is not worth the time and money unfortunately.
I think I might try it with a body serum sometime.
I thought the shower gel from treaclemoon smelled sooo nice.
It is also a great match with the macadamia peeling haha.

I wanted to go to AWG right next to it and was shocked about the prices.
Basic...I mean super basic clothes that I could get at any corner for 40€ (REDUCED PRICE!).
Hell no.

There was only one cute top for 10€ in a bright purple color in velours that I liked but I couldn't figure out many codes for it so I passed.
I rather get something from Ali that I really really like.

I currently do my laundry and some housework.

I have to look up what vaccines I need for Singapore and if I also have to request a visa.
The language school only told me about the passport, so I am not sure now.

I already ate lunch with my parents and later make a salad creation again.
I have no idea what to make, I should have peeked into their freezer.
My new kitchen will arrive in 4 weeks and then  I FINALLY can move my stuff back in.
Ahh I am excitedddd.

AI Gyaru Interview

I was just editing my about me page and I thought about adding some new questions to my Q&A section to finish it today and I thought why not ask ChatGPT what questions they would ask?

And boy, they are so much better than the ones I had in my mind.

A lot of them were more or less similiar questions but put in a way, they reveal more depth..so I figured I am going to style the About Me page a little bit different and make a separate post now with the questions.
I am also adding the sample at the bottom to copy and post on your blogs as well!

Let's have some interviews!

Hello, My name is Lynn, aka Rinmero.
I am 25 years old, from Germany and almost 10+ years into gyaru fashion.

Q: What initially drew you to gyaru fashion, and how did you discover it?

A: I remember as a 13/14 y.o. teen I was more into kawaii-culture than specifically gyaru. I used to watch anime and loved Japan and their j-fashion styles. As far as I can tell I was more into himekaji and agejo. I remember I used to pair a bright barbie pink top and a black skirt with black overknee socks and heels to emulate an agejo-look. I used to hate kuro and hime with a passion though and did not count the inspo I received was gyaru as well, I didn't know too much about it then. I had more interest towards the weheartit and tumblr "barbie" style that often gets described as bimbocore nowadays but also punkish/gothic outfits and elements used to be my daily inspos. I also had a pastel goth phase where I really wanted to dye my hair pastel pink. I was about 15/16 I guess when I noticed that gyaru is combinable with my other style interests and looked it up more. I did not really wear it back then, because I did not have the financial means but I was a lot into makeup artistry and experimented with some of their techniques. I thought I had not started gyaru until I was 17/18 but my memories are mistaken, I was able to find old profiles of me when I was younger and already into gyaru.

Q: How would you describe your personal take on gyaru fashion?

A: Currently I like to be more relaxed about my looks and focus on a casual variant that I can integrate into my daily life. I spend more time on hair and makeup now than the actual clothes.
I did a gyaru break for a while and experimented with other styles that more or less forced me to consider colors, textiles, shapes and cuts and what works than having a brand-focused wardrobe.
It also made me realise that this is what gyaru from japan are doing as well. They simply wear whatever they want and are still gyaru. Some even wore other styles i.e. Lolita.
I am me, I am gyaru.

Q: What’s your favorite sub-style within gyaru fashion (e.g., hime gyaru, kogal, rokku gyaru), and why?

A: I used to be a hime/himekaji-gal but now I am more into rokku and 96gal/tsuyome. It is more bold and I feel like it fits my personality better. I like the makeup and tan a lot, the hairstyles as well.
I think it is more or less a gyaru version of the fashion that I liked as a teenager and always wanted to wear when growing up.

Q: What are some key items or accessories that define gyaru fashion for you?

A: The devil is in the detail. It is difficult to pin-point them when gyaru is a broad umbrella term.
To me I like to focus more on makeup, hair and nails. It's very often that it can make the most bland outfit look incredibly gal, because it is on you.

Q: Do you incorporate elements of gyaru fashion into your everyday wear, or is it more of a special occasion thing for you?

A: I would say, to work I am kinda a mixture of 96gal and onee-gyaru. I mostly wear skin-tight dresses in a midi-length that look super sexy, paired with black high heels. I have been looking up a lot of pretty dresses on Ali in the "old money"-style that I think can also be made super gal. I rarely, if almost never make pictures of my outfits though. Maybe I should do that more often.

Q: How do you decide on the right outfit for a particular day or event?

A: The weather decides. I feel cold easily, so especially during winter I make sure I can code it with thick cardigans or pullovers. On events I take a vibe that I feel like today (do I want to be sexy, cute or casual?).

Q: What do you think makes gyaru fashion stand out from other fashion subcultures?

A: Mostly the variety but also the mindset of the gals. They are very open-minded and creative, they like to make bold statements and want to have fun. We don't follow rules and everyone can give their own personal touch into their looks.

Q: Are there specific trends in gyaru fashion that you’re excited about right now?

A: I see it gets more popularity again, in Japan but also in the western world. I like that vets are getting more comfortable again and want to participate and revive the community.

Q: How do you feel when you wear gyaru? Does it boost your confidence or make you feel empowered?

A: I feel free and it makes me happy.

Q: In what ways do you think gyaru fashion allows you to express your personality?

A: Wow, this is actually a difficult question. I think I get the most creative when doing my nails, it is my personal trademark. The people in my area rarely know my name but they keep saying "the lady with the nails", they definitely stand out. I live at the country-side, those kind of blinged up stiletto nails are not a thing here. They have never seen something like this and are amazed by it.

Q: Have you ever faced any misconceptions or negative reactions because of your gyaru style? How did you handle that?

A: When I used to wear kawaii outfits I got referred to wearing a manga style a lot. There are some that laugh about it when passing. The most annoying kind is when you are walking in a big city and people are honking when passing you by. I am easily scared and always get little heart attacks when they do it. I think it is natural to get irritated by negative comments at first, it is okay to feel sad or angry. But there are only 2 options for me: 1. Either I double up. Whatever they criticize about me, I make it worse and 2. not give a shit about it. I think people who have the audacity to be rude towards others only make it more apparent they have their own issues. I don't keep myself busy with things that are not worth my time.

Q: How do you combine your Western background with elements of gyaru fashion? Do you find it challenging at all?

A: I think the problem that a lot of gaijins face is they naturally feel more obligated to be OTT. When the japanese tan, wear makeup and dye their hair blonde they immediately stand out, whereas in the western world you still could be perceived as pretty basic. I also think that's why a lot of gaijins face a lot of insecurity about not being "gal enough". I had this problem too. After my gyaru break I looked at my old pictures from a different pov and realised that I used to be too hard on myself. I feel more relaxed now and try to do less but better.

Q: Do you think the gyaru style has changed over the years? If so, how has it influenced your style choices?

A: In the gaijin atmosphere, YES A LOT. In Japan, not so much. Many substyles died out and are not common anymore, Heisei is dead and a new era has already started a couple years ago. Gyaru itself has always been adapting to newer styles and trends and they will continue to do so.
When looking at the gaijin community however I feel like it has stuck in time. Newbies keep doing the same thing over and over again and there is originality missing. It gets mixed a lot with the Y2k-trends and even though there are a lot of resource options, I get the impression there were never less informed gals around than now.

Q: What are some Western fashion elements you like to incorporate into your gyaru outfits, if any?

A: I had always wished to make a german dirndl gyaru code for around oktoberfest with a leopard dress and a big black d.i.a-inspired belt with a furrytail but because I never go to any events during oktoberfest I never had the opportunity. I definitely think this could look amazing.
Other than that I have always been a lover for fashion and it's history. Tsubasa Masuwaka used to make lots of scene photoshoots by incorporating fashion history into her gyaru style.
I have already scanned some of her books on my blog if you'd like to check it out.

Q: When it comes to makeup, what’s your go-to look for achieving a gyaru vibe?

A: Lenses, Eyeliner and Lashes make about 90% of a look. It gets highly underestimated how it can change the anatomy of your face. I think it is a great skill to make a go-to style that matches your eyeshape. I have almond-shaped eyes with flat tearbags. Any kind of snatched eyeliner won't look good. I like to keep the eyeliner below the crease of my hoods and only draw on the wing and front line on my eyes. I think a line on your lid "cuts" and shortens the length of your lashes and I want to optically max them. I do not like heavy droops and work with leaving out pencil eyeliner on my lower outer corner of my waterline to leave it "naked". I tried namida bukuro techniques but they don't suit me in reallife at all, I prefer to highlight the front part underneath my lower lash line with glitter or metallic liner. I focus on thick clustered lashes that I glue on from underneath on my natural lashes and cut lower lashes in half to emphasize my new eyeshape by gluing them on my droop on the outer lower corner of my eye. I like to keep my lenses more subtle with aprox. 14,5mm and in a grey/blue color.

Q: How important is hair in the gyaru look for you? Do you have any favorite hairstyles or hair care tips?

A: To be honest, the haircolor is most important but since there are many varieties of gyaru styles, I think the haircut or style only comes second. I think you definitely need dyed and styled hair but it depends on the look you are trying to achieve. I love the blonde and exte-type of hairstyles in gyaru.
To keep my hair as healthy as possible I oil it before showering and use conditioner in  the shower, leave-in conditioner after shower and a serum on my tips to seal the ends.

Q: Do you have a favorite brand or store where you shop for gyaru clothes and accessories?

A: Right now I ditched the brands and mainly shop from Aliexpress. I loved Ma*rs and Jesus Diamante though and they are mostly the brand clothes that I kept throughout the years.

Q: What’s your approach to mixing colors and patterns in gyaru fashion? Any rules you follow or is it all about experimentation?

A: I like to stick to 2-3 colors within a code and when there is pattern to only combine it with unicolored pieces. I have mad respect for people who are able to combine different patterns, I always feel like something is off. Maybe that should be my next challenge to go more overboard with patterns. I think the best pattern forever will be leo or cheetah...you can literally make anything more gal with it.

Q: Are there any influencers, celebrities, or public figures who inspire your gyaru style?

A: Right now I follow Fukitisu, Asupi and Rebra that inspire me but I also get a lot of input from xiaohongshu.

Q: How do you connect with other people who share an interest in gyaru fashion? Are there any online communities or social media platforms that help you stay inspired?

A: I am a total supporter of casual blogging!! This is YOUR space, you can post whatever..it is like social media but better. You are not limited to post content to match your feed or obligated to work within a content frame. This is like the OG-gyaru platform. the freedom of expression you can make via a blog is endless. I think more gals should start blogging casually, this doesn't have to be a professional setting. You can design how you want it, DIY it to the core and don't have to think about the content you are posting so much. I prefer the short posts to be honest. It could be something simple like "boring day but look at this cute bird I photographed outside", if this is what you enjoyed today, this is YOU. I like reading others blogs and see what they are up to, it is also not forced or faked like on typical social media platforms. I comment on others posts if there was something in particular that stood out but also to give a little love of "Hey, I enjoy reading about your day!".

Q: Do you have any advice for someone interested in trying out gyaru fashion for the first time?

A: Just do it. Experiment with your makeup and hairstyles, mimique the pictures you see online to the smallest detail. It makes you notice what you have to keep doing and what works for you. Work on your mindset and research a lot. Don't be too harsh on yourself either and honestly, try to stay away from tik tok advice. You can ask vets for help but don't expect them to do the work for you. And please, don't immediately throw tons of cash on brand. Work little by little and try to use what you already have in your closet. I can guarantee ALL of you have at least a couple pieces that can be used for gal in a certain way. Gyaru is a CREATIVE substyle that lived a lot from DIY, it is empowering and has a great sense of freedom to it. If you feel insecure, intimidated or restricted, there is something wrong, it definitely shouldn't feel that way.

Q: Looking ahead, where do you see your style evolving? Are there any future trends or aspects of gyaru fashion you’re excited to explore?

A: Since most of the time I either have to wear professional attire or casual clothing I would focus more on the onee-gyaru elements that I want to combine with old money for work and wear a bright and cute variant of xiaohongshu fashion for casual days. I really want to incorporate artsy clothes to make something new and creative for more individual looks as well. I am overflowing with ideas and have too less time and money to actually make all of these visions come true at once right now. I am excited to see what I can accomplish for my new gyaru era.

new hair stuff almost complete!

Puhh that one day 1 hour earlier really has thrown me out of track woww..
I was up earlier then usually but in the evening my energy was 0%.
I would come back home, eat, shower and immediately go to bed...I was not ready to do anything.

BUT I am back haha.

Yesterday I have received my bleach stuff.

This is what I used to use back in the days..I can't remember the packaging of the powder to be like this but whatever...I hope it will just be fine.
I have some old yogurt boxes that I kept with the lid (1liter) for storage which I will use to put the powder in <3

Today I also received my extee

I ordered 3 pack of 24inch.
It looks soo...idk, like it is not enough haha.
But I also think this is deception.
When I checked the seam it looked fine..I also have "thinner" hair now due to my haircut,
so it won't be the same than it used to be with exte.

I remember that my exte were always super heavy..I used a lot because I have thick hair and did not cut any layers etc., blending was nearly impossible and it made it really difficult.
Now I have the layers and in general it made my hair look less bulky now...despite having the same density on my head.

I liked sew-ins the most but I think the threads really irritated my scalp so I am using a new method by attaching the exte with only beads.

And this is what is missing..I have black beads but I want to put in "blonde" ones to make them a little less visible. Especially because the technique won't really hide them well, it's the opposite, they will be even more visible.
I hope they will arrive quickly soon.

I also planned to put the exte in right after bleaching, because I have no clue how to cut them or how I will put them in first now. And afterwards I will use the toner.
I think this will make it a little more difficult handling the toner but I'll do it once and after I had cut the exte in the according pieces I can, for the future, tone them before putting them in.

I am already excitteeed.
I think I will put them in around valentines day because I have 3 days off after each other instead of just one day off, one day work etc. So I will have enough time and can also do it over several days if I want to.

I will now catch up with the blogs on my reading list x3

my favourite products of 2024

I know 2024 is over but I wanted to show you some highlight products that I loved last year.

I hope you can find some that interest you as well <3

Hair

Herbal Essence Rose Scent Hair Products

For a while I was obsessed with having all my products rose scented so I picked up herbal essence sometime. I had tried all products and still use their conditioner as a leave-in (and re-bought it).
I love how soft and smooth it left my hair.

L'ador Keratin LPP Shampoo

I am in love with this keratin shampoo from Lador..
I usually have frizzy and wavy hair but the additional keratin makes my hair really smooth and silky.
I might want to try a keratin treatment sometime then...my hair really likes it.

This is the type of curling rod I like to use to make my curls overnight.
I got mine from Aliexpress in a hot pink color.
I used a couple methods and this is the only one that's easy and quick to do but also still comfortable enough to sleep in.
Make sure you go section for section starting at the top and always twist twice around the rod before adding another section.
A good thumb rule is to make sure you're twisting the hair around the rod over your sectioning "line"...Always go upwards!!
To make sure the curls remain curls and not become waves, do not comb through it in the morning when taking them out.
I like to headbang to loosen it...it's miracolous!
I only comb through the top part of my hair to make it a little more neat.

Schwarzkopf Gliss Night Elixir

My all-time favourite to apply on tips and some lengths.
When you have healthy hair to begin with it makes sure you don't get split ends...ever.
Of course now I have bleached my hair and I can't expect it to be a miracle product but despite the aggressive damage I am putting on my hair now it still is able to make it look less awful and gives it proper moisture. 10/10 recommend.

Tangle Teezer Detangling Brush

I love love love my Tangle Teezer. The hype is real!
Normally you shouldn't brush your hair when wet but because I like to evenly spread my leave-in conditioner I have to comb through it cautiously. It is amazing.
It is literally the best brush you can get for your hair.
I own the pink one (on the right side of the picture).

Skincare

Skin1004 Centella Ampoule

I absolutely love skin1004 products and this ampoule was working just lovely.
I loved using it during my night routine between toner and night mask.
It made me more curious towards other skin1004 products that I am also satisfied with.

Some by Mi Yuja Niacin Sleeping Mask

I loved using some by mi products for a while and this night mask was my favourite of them all.
I re-bought it like 3 times until I had to convince myself to try something else again.

Benton Snail Bee High Content Essence

I have been using Benton products for a while now and I am in love with their snail bee series.
I am currently still using the toner and the essence at night.
I had been using their sheet mask sometime before and was convinced to buy their products.

Benton Centella Cica Spot Cream

Another Benton product that I got to know about via a sheet mask.
Their sheet mask literally killed my acne but unfortunately was too aggressive and left my face oily and irritated. However I figured the same kind of product as a spot cream might work well and IT DOES!
It literally kills any pimple over night.
Even the tough ones are gone after the second or third day.

Makeup

Romand Juicy lasting tint #20 dark coconut.

Last year I was totally into red lips (now I am shifting more into pink) and I was obsessed with the romand juicy lasting tint.
Don't be confused by the brown color, if your lips are a natural pinkish shape it will turn out more reddish.
It doesn't matter what matte I used underneath, it always made it look lovely.
My favourite combo was with Etude Fixing Tint #06 Soft Walnut.

Revolution Forever Flawless Palette

Last year I got obsessed with Revolution Palettes. They are affordable, have a variety of interesting shades and the quality of the glitters are BOMB.
My favourite one is Forever Flawless.
The color Attraction worked beautifully as a highlight on the inner corner of the eyelid.
I mainly bought it because of Empathy and Bond but I ended up not using them as often because they're just that well pigmented and very bold for everyday use.

Joocyee Neo Deco Palette #F15

When I bought the Joocyee Palette I planned using it exactly as shown in the example but did only once now. What I did not properly understand (because of insufficient translations on Yesstyle) is that the case had to be ordered seperately.
My order contained a product that couldn't be shipped after weeks.
I had to seperate the order and it arrived like almost 2 months after I ordered it and until then all the cases were sold out so I am keeping it in the plastic packaging now HAHA.
But despite that the product is amazing. I have oily lids and I am used by now that at the end of the day my eyeshadows will become an eyeliner on my crease lmao.
No, primer won't help...but this product is well pigmented despite the low use of product that it's almost the only product that does not get stuck after 8+ hours.  Mad respect.

Etude Syrup Glossy Balm

I've got all 3 shades of Etude Syrup Glossy Balm and all shades are absolutely perfect!
I mostly used Rosy Lavendar (in the middle) because of it's neutral tone it was perfect when I couldn't decide what color to match with my outfit or didn't feel like putting too much attention on my lips.
They are leaving the lips moisturized for hours. I have to admit I struggled a bit understanding how to get the product out and felt incredibly stupid after I got it.
It has a button on the bottom and I kept twisting the bottom thing.

14,5mm Bubble Blue

These are currently my favourite lenses and I wear them daily.
I usually don't like wearing blue lenses because most are too bright and I often opt for grey ones then instead but these have a beautiful color and is everything but too bright.
I got mine from Ifairycon but I have seen that many sellers get it from places like Aliexpress as well and I think if it really doesn't irritate the eyes, I don't see why you shouldn't get it directly from there for 1/4th of the price then.
They are literally the same damn lenses.

Bodycare

Dove Creme-Shower-Peeling

My body hates most peelings, they are always too aggressive or make my skin feel irritated but when I tell you I LOVE these.
They not only leave your skin super soft and moisturized but they are mild and still get the job done.
I wish they would publish more scents and variations.

I got one of these silicone body brushes that I use to clean my body with shower gel.
It is soft to use and your skin feels squeaky clean afterwards!
I got mine from Aliexpress in a hot pink color.

Lifestyle

Bora Chung - Cursed Bunny

One of my favourite reads of last year was Cursed Bunny.
I soaked this book up so quickly.
It featured interesting stories that are short but makes you think about the deeper sense behind it.

Giuseppe Cremonini Aceto Balsamico Di Modena

I have already shown you this balsamico in a couple blog posts.
Me and my mum are obsessed. They have a variety of flavours but our all-time favourite is with fig.

Another obsessions from me and my mum is burrata cheese!
I loved eating it and introduced it to my mum mid 2024 as well.
Even though it is a bit on the pricier side it's just so tasty.
It is like perfect for mozzarella lovers that want some more taste to it.

Ecover laundry detergent

After 3 years it remains my only and favourite product when doing laundry.
I got so used to it I literally CAN'T smell chemical products anymore.
They clean my clothes very well and it doesn't leave an uncomfortable smell afterwards.
I literally use all versions of it: for blacks, for colors, for wools and the universal.
I also like adding the fabric softener from them.
A little less than a cup is enough for me and has been working very well.
