Getss and new lenses

Hellooow

This morning I had an extra minute to take a few pics...the code pic was too dark to properly see smth anyway

But here is my usual meikuu

As you can see my hair is a lot lighter now..
Super brassy still but I am scared the white part turns purple again🤣

During my lunch break at work I went over to dm bcuz my hair serum is empty and my body lotion too.

I remember I used this oil when I was 16 but can't remember if it was good lmao..I wanted to try smth else. I also had quite a hard time choosing between bodylotions and picked this one now. My colleague said she uses this and I need to pay attention "to use gloves because it turns your palm orange" and I was like yess...hopefully LMAO. I took soles for my new shoes when I spot them as well.

After work I went to the hisalo and picked the diff machine...this one is so strong I got a lil sunburn on my chest lel

My lenses came and I loved all of them tbh

Quick reminder of my current meiku with G+G lenses in green.

Obviously my meiku is super gross and faded after 13 hours but I wanted to see the lenses with makeup.

My eyes without

So I had to drop the Eclipse bcuz they were sold out (maybe its better that way anyway) and chose these Aquamarins instead.
I was super curious bcuz in some pics they looked super intense and in others they were pretty?

They look like barbie eyes😭💕

Next were the Honey Bun which I chose for a more secure big lense option you could say. I wanted big lenses this time but I was scared how they would look and if I could even wear them in daily life and the brown honey bun looked less crazy.

They suit me so much!!!

Next were Spark, my corageous option lmao
It looked like a freaky design but I wanted smth between blue and gray..they are less bright than I had imagined.

I refreshed my make a bit and took some more pics.

I love Spark and Honey Bun...it is hard to decide which one is better!!

After showering now I put my new lotion on...it actually smells super fruity! But sooo good😍
Hope it gives me a nice tan.

vacation is over

I have to go back to work tomorrow..

I am sorry for the lack of scans and/or makeup tutorials I actually planned to do..
it was a lot to take care of here actually and I was busy mostly with fixing my haircolor lmao..
Well guess what...I put another round of color b4!
Now it looks a lot better..
I think I will actually embrace a more golden look now, because the white stripe isn't so intensive that way actually...but I will show you in a different post.

modern gyaru problems: scrolling through inspo but feeling stuck

Hello...another writing post..
Are you bored of them yet? hehe

This one will be another one relatively short I think..

but mostly vets and those longer into the fashion will relate.

As you all know I am anti-social media...
it is not only a toxic environment but also it blocks progress and creativity.
The struggle with scrolling through inspo and feeling stuck only appears because of the algorithm.

You keep getting shown the same things over and over again.

Here are a few steps to take to get back into track:

1. Read magazines

go on achive.org, or galrevolution, I also try to upload new scans regularly.
Maybe pick a niche (same magazine, same time period).
Analyze what you see, what do you like?
Try to find the same stuff online in shops or in locals.

2. Check out old blogs

You can also try to dig deep into the internet to find old blogs, either by jp gals or by gaijins.
What can you find out? What inspired you?
Do you see patterns? (trends at the same time or what they were talking about)

3. Leave the gyaru zone

Gals are fashionistas, you know who also are? Other fashionistas lmao.
Check out normie fashion magazines or other alt styles.
Do you see stuff you have seen gals wearing too?
Can you combine certain pieces?
Remember gals are either sexy or playful (mostly), not every item works well for gal but in the end it also depends on what you like.

4. Go online shopping and make collages with it

Did you see a cool piece in a shop? perfect, now search for matching pieces.
I like to browse on online shops for hours tbh lmaooo.
It makes me switch vibes sometimes as well.

5. Chat with other fellow gyaru

The other gals might be into different booms atm...you will catch up new topics, new vibes and also new outfit ideas maybe?
Maybe they will mention something you think is interesting.
And this also works via Blogger btw.
You blog about smth, someone reads and comments -> you get into chat naturally.
Me and Ray even ping pong blogged earlier last week haha.

6. Give yourself a challenge

Hiking outfit? Gym clothes? Are there situations where you thought you can't do gal?
why not? Maybe search for an outfit for exactly these moments.
If you get the outfits and keep them in your closet it is a bonus, so next time you want to go on a hike you will look fabulous doing it.

7. Do a makeover

Maybe it is not just your inspo but you yourself.
Same hair since 2 years? Same makeup routine?
Switch it up, use different lashes, different eyeshadow, dye your hair..
If you wear flat shoes every day, try reminding yourself to pick up the heels more often

8. Search other hobbies

What does that have to do with fashion you think? Well because other hobbies also have different vibes and inspo...literally anything that has to do with craft or arts in one way or another can be used as inspo for fashion...yes you heard me right.
That pottery club? Maybe someone used a specific print...are there dresses with that print?
Embroidery or crochet? Flowers and their colors? watching movies (maybe retro movies, old hollywood..)...just a couple suggestions.

Honestly my mind is racing with ideas all the time, it is the lack of money that is my problem HAHA.
I hope you find this helpful.

BONUS

What I like to do sometimes is choose a random picture you have, maybe its from a flower or a painting and go on Shein or AliEx and use the picture search mode..
Sounds ridiculous and I have to admit it doesn't always work well..
but sometimes it suggest you interesting clothes and accessories ngl xD

scanned ageha

After I was done writing yesterday I gave para para another chance.

I chose Night of Fire as my first choreo and honestly I am surprised it worked well now.

It took me in total 3 hours to get the routine and being able to dance with the song out of my memory.

I was sweating like crazy.

I rehearsed it today and give it a couple days more practice before moving on to the next dance.

I also just scanned ageha december 2006 and now the 2006 bracket is complete, (yes vol.1 is from 2005 but it doesn't matter).

In this issue they have a section about eyebrows which I think is an underestimated topic.

For the whole 2006 style I am writing a lil summary, maybe you like it too?

 Hair

-layers cut with approx.24 inch exte
-warm dark blonde or light brown shades, sometimes copper tones as well
-either side bangs or straight bangs
-the hair can be left straight or the lengths curled
-for voluminous hairstyle they did sujimori
-some put tiny hairclips like butterflies in as accessories
-a few had darker hair but usually with a brown/red tint

Makeup

-small lenses with a darker circle around it (ca.14.5mm)
-natural lashes or no fake lash at all, focusing on a thick mascara
-metallic eyeshadows (brown, white, black or purple shades)
-no tearbag makeup or similiar
-droop very subtle
-lipglosses in a light pink or nude color

clothes

-camisole or tube tops, mostly out of cotton or satin-textiles
-denim skirts or pants
-flip flops with a heel (mules)
-low high heeled sandals
-high boots in either black or brown shades mostly
-long cardigans (during winter issues)
-paisley prints
-overknee socks

Accessories

-cartier rings and bracelets
-short necklaces with charm
-cross necklaces
-longer necklaces consists of big hoops or beads are also featured
-louis vuitton and chanel bags, quilted or in brown/black
-totes or shoulder bags
-watches
-big cerebu sunglasses

 Lifestyle and Culture

-I made a Spotify playlist already with the songs mentioned somewhere
-Theres focus in the ads on weight loss, breast enhancement, circle lenses and hair exte
-of course tons of kyabakura hostess dresses
-bragging with luxuries (car, motorbike, bags, jewelry)

I personally think the early ageha issues have a distinct vibe compared to the later issues..which you will see over the next few issues...they loose the pink and glitter vibe more and more, also focusing less on luxuries...however they will focus more on fashion, which they didn't do that much yet.
It is a bit difficult to describe but you will see...also 2007 is the year Sakurina started modeling for ageha <3.

I will write later on again but for now I want to relax a bit before having to go for a walk with my dog.

why I almost gave up on gyaru and why I didn't

Okaaayyy...I never fully gave up...
Those who know me for a longer time, know it has been more a back and forth.

But I personally consider one big break up: before my isolation phase.

It was right after covid, the gaijin community was more or less split, everyone argued and put themselves into little groups and I got a new job.
It has also been about my 10th year circa that I knew about gyaru and spent time with the fashion.
And I put it the way it is: I was sick of it.

I was sick of scrolling through the same pictures on ig or pinterest.
I was sick of the debating and arguing, because it has been the same things in a hamster wheel.
I was sick of not fitting into brands and clothes.
And I was sick of the world and social media in general..

I needed a break and that was such a big benefit to me.

I gained inspo from other sources, I was more open to experiment with different niches and styles outside of gyaru and when you are not "forcing" yourself to fit into a picture, you give yourself more freedom to develop your own style..
Figuring out what you like, what you dislike..

As weird and contradicting as it sounds...not being gyaru for a while made me a better gal.
Because now I see it from a different perspective.
It was never about substyles or being OTT..
Gyaru have always been trendsetters, fashionistas and each of them had their own personal style.
I actually want to encourage everyone to wear stuff that is not typical gyaru, but focusing on making their own wardrobe work.

Here is why I came back though:

I was bored at some point,

Bored of not having someone to chat with.
Bored of wearing "modest" clothing without that extra kick.
Bored of natural meikus.

I found my space in the gyaru fashion because that's who I am.
The whole substyle/community/debating-culture that revolved around it took the joy away from me.
What usually was supposed to be favourite hobby has become some sort of mask.

The ongoing topic about what is gyaru and how does it look like, unconsciously pressured me to question wether I was "gyaru enough" to count myself in or not...slightly pressuring me to wear outfits or styles that I might like looking at, but didn't feel comfortable in.
I barely recognized myself tbh.
I felt like pushing myself into some sort of costume.

But that is not who I was before.
I was excited about makeup and creating looks and I loved fashion (all sorts of fashion) and I loved going through magazines and watching models and going shopping and creating collages and just being creative with expression myself through my looks.

I missed doing heavy makeup.
I missed deco nails.
I missed wearing sexy clothes and being playful.
I missed the excited joy you have with gyaru.

Gyaru is actually so much fun if it doesn't revolve around pressure or masking.

I want to spend more time doing it.
My blog being the number one "playground" for now to express myself.

In the end gyaru is not a goal but a journey.

meiku + brunch

 Helloo,

my friend just left and now I want to spend some time relaxing...maybe scanning...writing..reading..

idk...the past few days I was busy throughout the day because of hairdying and doing nails---

Now I have so much time haha

I tried a different eyeshadow from the pallette and used the sheglam glitter over my Etude..
which is a nice combo tbh.
Fashionwise I just wore black pants with a shirt, since I stay home.

love my nailssss.

I did overnight oats last evening and scrambled eggs in the morning, because I felt just sausage and cheese is a bit boring...in the end she doesn't like overnight oats and barely touched the eggs (:

I preheated the plate in the microwave before putting the eggs in, that way they stay warm for longer.
I also don't have much space on my table...it is not meant for having visit over anyway.
She brought the bread  <3
The vegetables are from our garden...super tasty.
Well, the overnight oats will be my breakfast tomorrow then haha..will put some of the fruits in I think.

We went for a walk with my dog afterwards and looked through the flea market here in the village.
She bought a fireworktruck toy for her nephew.
I had to hold back because I was spending too much money lately..

new nails+hair update

 Heyy,

quick update..

as always, this is my "inspo" but obviously I freestyled again

I took inspo mostly from the colors and general vibe...
and this is my creation:

Doing the marble design was hell...I used a blooming gel and it would constantly run into my cuticle...also because I just took so damn long to make it lmao..However I think I will try it again sometime but with a different technique then..

Here with a different lighting..

Before I put the design on, I hated that nude...the nails were so long...it looked kinda ugly with it lol..
but now I am glad that I finished because they look awesome.

The tips are great too..they are very thick and the width is perfect for my nails..
application was easier with them.

As you can see, I also used my new tiny gems from Shein.
I am in love with the gradient..these two colors go so well with each other.

I actually gave the Color b4 a chance now.
Idk why, I saved this is my head as "doesn't work" but I dunno why, can't remember.
This was sorcery tbh...after an hour heating up with a plastic bag on my head, I took it off and it looked the same but as soon as I stepped under the shower it washed off the pigment!
Even before using the special shampoo!!
It looked pretty light in the shower already I was sooo excited.
It didn't took off enough in the end but enough to look...decent.
I think that's also because I had a bunch of silicones in my hair and it already said that it won't work properly then in the instructions (but I didn't read them before wanting to do it, well..)
I think I will use the color b4 again but now I feel the result is decent enough to leave my hair alone for a but.
I used my purple shampoo today to get rid off the brasiness a bit...but I didn't leave it in for too long..
because I still have that white/greenish halo going on and it would have sucked up the pigment too much (which it did in the end)..
However the blonde looks ok now...in my bathroom lighting it always looks more extreme and darker than it actually is btw.

So here is the before (before color b4)

Tonight...(haven't straightened it and it still is a bit dry from all the procedures).

I would say it looks a lot more even now.
Haven't used the beige blonde shampoo yet...might do a lil later on I think.
