Abandoning Instagram

 Heyaa bunnies

I've been reading Lizzies blog and she was talking about selfcare routines and then I wanted to talk to you about my typa selfcare.

Problemzone Instagram
Those who know me for longer know that I keep deleting and creating instagram accounts. In general I think it's way better without but why did I keep coming back? One of the main reasons was that I could keep contact with my gals and also post my gallife. Now I made facebook and my blog for that and I don't feel the need for an ig anymore, so I doubt I will create a new account once again.
But why did I delete it?
There are a few things that just disturb me about ig.
One part is the feed. Instagram is just built like a collage and of course collages r supposed to fit or have the same aesthetic. I am not quite like that. I might have a direction I am going but in the end I wear whatever I want. Instagram made me feel like I need to create a personality instead of just being myself. I would delete pictures that don't fit or edit the hell out of them. But at the same time u want to post, so I would be frustated if my reallife didn't fit into my instagram feed. I felt a lil like faking something.
Another part are the likes and the followers...No matter how often I would repeat myself that I am not doing it for the likes. I would always look on it and I would get sad if others got a lot of likes and I didn't. It made me feel unappreciated or unwanted.
I feel like this whole "social media aesthetique" is also the issue about the newer gyaru. Many do it for cloud, or only do it in social media or not reallife. That's not what gal is about and it takes all the fun.
Wrong hashtags are floating the content and you quite got nothing left on it. Not to mention that many seem to be gals and after two weeks they are normies again.???
Here on my blog I can post about my gallife, I don't have pressure to post the right content bcuz the right content is me. My layout is the same, it doesn't affect my posts and I can always change and customize it how I want. I got facebook to keep contact with my gals and that's all I need.

I know that's a lot of text but I love to get these type of things off my heart.
Instagram is toxic and I am glad I get rid of it.

xoxo Lynn

  1. I feel this so much! My accounts have never really been popular and after a while, I get bored/annoyed with trying to make insta interesting for both me and my followers. But now all around it just all feels so stale. I was trying to hold onto it for the same reason as you - keeping in contact with other gals. But it's barely working anymore lol. I might just use it to just promote my blog posts and once in a while do a selfie or something.

Wow, this reminds me of when so many bloggers left for Insta. And now a few are leaving Insta for blogging. Are we back to 2010?! I'm here for it!

  2. I understand exactly how you feel about instagram, and to be honest, since I started blogging casually I feel a less of a need to post on there. Nowadays I just mostly post on insta stories rather than on the feed! Reading blogs is definitely my favourite way to read about other gal's lives! <3
