Day 9: Day spending in Singapore

So 12th of May was a national holiday in singapore so I didn't have school.
Something I have learned by the french was to use chatgpt to make a daytrip plan xD
and now it had worked so much better...it actually didn't plan enough, so I kept asking for more things closeby.

I started the day by going to Chinatown again...there are the temples celebrating and I also couldn't go on the roof floor of the buddhist temple on my first day.

The first couple days of my singapore trip I at least manage to take code pics but soon I started to forget xD

The Sri Mariamman Temple, that I only took a pic of from outside on my first day.

The buddhist temple from one of the entrances..

While I was in Malaysia I talked to Friedrich and he pointed out that to him Singapore is not a "natural" city..like all of the nature you see is pretty much just greens, no flowers.
And I agreed a lot...when you are able to catch some nature, it is never colorful...just green.
So I put myself on the mission to find the colorful things while in Singapore and found some on the first day of my mission in the buddhist temple! <3

I then headed to eat lunch at the maxwell hawker.

My teacher suggested to try Laksa..there are many kinds all over singapore but I got a good catch I think...and it was just a liiitle bit spicy x'D

A drink for on the way (which I pretty much emptied on the spot because I was so thirsty in this weather). And then I went to ba-dum-tss another temple..

On the way I walked through the Ann Siang Hill Park <3

The temple from outside on my way there

I actually didn't go in...because I felt like there was a closed ceremony going on there or something, plus I was too lazy to take off my shoes again so I just admired the view from the outside and went to Fuk Tak Chi...which is a tiny museum now with a hotel in the back.

This guy had an arm missing T.T
I had no idea whyyy

I filmed the scenery of this but again, the size of the clip is too big to insert :(

The hotel in the back was so neatly designed..

Chatgpt guided me to the next museum (I forgot which one) but because of the public holiday it was closed.

Outside on the surface they had a timeline of singapore and I filmed it all but if a 1-minute video is too big, I don't have to try with a 3-minute one lmao.

But here is one quote I took a pic of:

I thought it was very motivational and aspiring and it struck out to me.

I walked to pinnacle next, because according to chatgpt there was a sky bridge.
On my way I took a picture of these pretty houses.

so at the pinnacle they had some information on the ground level..which is actually pretty cool.
It was the first time reading a little bit more about the hdb-housing here in singapore.

Going up was like...4€ or something?

The view was amazing!!

I was completely alone there too!! I was so surprised.
It was very calm and more windy, refreshing...

Also I finally took some selfies xD

They had some decorations and chill-lounges there..

Also there was this fake beach for the residents xD

I took some time there to take a break from all the walking.
I would meet up with other students to go on the cruise at clarke and I wanted to go see the Merlion before that.
I can't be in Singapore and not have seen it yknow haha.

(some impressions I got from the city on my way there)

And there it was!
It was so crowded there, everyone wanted to take a picture with it T.T

Yess...managed to take a selfie too..

The cruise was not that special tbh xDDD
I have seen exactly the same things that I have already walked haha.
I think it makes sense for your first day to get some orientation but other than that I think it was a waste of money sorry not sorry.
Surprisingly...it was also not that refreshing neither.

I split up with the others to meet a classmate to do homework (yes, you heard right)..
But it turned out to not be necessary in the end haha...however, it was still nice because at first we went to grab some food.

I told her that sometimes I would just order something random to find new things and then we agreed that both of us would order something random for each to try.

My main dish was Pad See Ew and it was soo delicious...I chose less spicy because I was scared too tbh haha but it was quite good.

As a drink I chose butterfly pea iced tea and tbh I felt so stupid.
I only thought about butterflies...I didn't know it was a flower!
It tasted very well and after eating I asked the waitress what it was and she looked at me like I was crazy, so while she tried to explain I googled it and found out xD T.T...
but she was so nice and then told us how the drink is made from the petals!

Her choice for us was chee cheong fan...which was also quite nice.
It has a mild taste to it, so I think it's good for those that don't like spicy, or too sweet or too salty whatever..

I chose for us Lian Yong Pau (I was developing a Pau obsession and this is just the start of it.)
It's made with lotus paste seed as the filling...It had the right sweetness and was very delicious.

She also told me about the rice cake with mango as a dessert, so I agreed to try with her <3

We then wanted to leave for a bar and text others to join us at clarke.

At this bar apparently they start playing live music at 10pm so we wanted to wait there for others to join.

I tried a cocktail made with pho (!)...I was like...okayyyy,,,interesting.
It did taste like you drink soup...but with a tiny bit alcohol in it haha.
It wasn't my thing tbh.

So the others more or less said they couldn't come and we also got a bit tired, so we decided to leave and not wait for the live music.
