Day 8: Last Day in Penang

 

On our last day we went to the Kek Lok Temple.

Honestly, I was getting so sick of the temples at this point haha.

It was also raining in the morning that day...it later stopped and the sun was shining again <3

There was this huge buddha statue.

They had these free books laying around and I took one for practicing my chinese.

The next day I have shown it to my host mum and she said it is very difficult xD

After that we went back to town to see...badum-tss...another temple.

We went into a cafe first to get some food

I got myself some avocado sandwich.

I have never seen so much avocado on one sandwich from a cafe before.

Femke got a jumbo drink and look at that size difference xD

It literally was the size of her head.

Strawberry-matcha it was for me <3.

We were so tired we just relaxed there a bit.

We first wanted to wait for the other group but they took soooo long that we just went inside to the Kongsi temple then.

afterwards we were walking through the streets a little bit.

Although the prices are very low here, I didn't feel like shopping but when Femke wanted to find a henna place I agreed to join..I never had henna art on my body before.

both of these together were just 8€!!! T.T

It already started to fade after a week but regardless it was a fun experience.

Everyone headed back to the hotel and then took the bus to the airport.

We arrived back in Singapore at around 11pm and I wanted to take a grab to take each of us home.

According to google maps, her place was on the way and grab didn't have the option adding a stop inbetween. When the driver arrived we asked him and he kindly explained to us that her place is exactly NOT on the way. It is because of the expressway, it's like a highway the drivers need to take and its right in the middle of each suburb..so he would have to enter one place, go back to the expressway and then enter the other place. He still took us and we just paid him the other way on top and because he was still so friendly we tipped him for the inconvenience!

When I got back I had a nice chat with my host mum before I went to take a shower and sleep
