~How To Remove Henna From Hair~

Heyaa Bunnies

Currently I am working on my haircolour rn... I got kinda bored of black hair and want to dye it soon.
I want to go lighter but I don't really have a colour planned.
I will take what my hair is giving me

Since I already made the experience that going lighter on pre-dyed hair will end up in a mess, I decided to get rid of it first. I first wanted to try colour b4 but it is kinda expensive (because I would need 2 packs) PLUS I can't be sure if it actually works. Especially bcuz I got henna on.

I started digging deeper and read many horrorscenarios of people trying to bleach on henna.
There was everything: From hair turning red, to green, to frying off..

Even more I decided to get rid off it.

I remember when I was 16, I was trying several methods to get lighter hair
(I wanted platinum blonde back then, it was a hair desaster)
and a couple methods worked, including bleach for your laundry.
I am serious.
I put that shit on my head.

~young, wild and free...~

especially free of thinking cells LOL.

So before...I put that on my hair again, I will try the other methods haha.

So here is what worked for me:

First, I've put two spoons full of baking powder and lemon juice in a bowl..

And since I need a lot of mixture, I thought I put my hair oils in it too.
I don't use them and they waste space.
Definitely not needed for that process tho..

Aaaand a bunch of anti-dandruff-shampoo...we have tons floating around (since my mum is a natural bulk buyer), so after I empty them I'd still have a bottle to use somewhere HAHA.

So this is how my bowl looked like now

After I mixed it, it looks like this..

I've wet my hair by running water through it with my fingers and then applied it on top...
Also make sure, you don't have any wounds...
I had a cut on one of my fingers and lemme tell you, it burrrrrrrrnned.
I left it on for about 1-2 hours...I didn't really care about the time.
I just have a moment where I am like
"yuuup....let's go to rinse it out eventually".

I thought I might demonstrate how the water looked like afterwards.
You can literally see you're rinsing out the color.
(No, my hair was not dirty, that's 100% dye).

If you're curious, this is how my hair looked like before (with tons of henna and black hairdye on top)

I'll do this process a couple times before my bleach arrives and
then will edit an after picture here if you want...

BaiBai!!
xoxo Lynn

  1. You're really beave to go from deep black to bleach your hair haha. OMG I don't know how it's call in other countries, but some years ago when I had a hair disaster and wanted to bleach my hair, the first thing my colorist did was to remove all the pigmentation too. I know there are products for that but i don't know the names. :( There are a few hair professionals in the comm who must know more about that tho! <3 Maybe that could make your process easier and give to boost of nutrients!

    1. I did find several hair colour remover on amazon but it's exactly like with colour b4...I am not sure if they work, and even if they work, a lot claim they don't work on henna. I went from deep dyed black to blonde 3 times in my life LOL.. I hope I gained enough experience to know how to work through it. But that's the reason why I don't "choose" a colour I want. I just don't want black anymore. It could end up as red and I'll be fine with it haha.

  2. oooo can't wait to see what's the next step! I love seeing posts and tutorials on hair things. I dye my hair just a few times a year so I try not to kill it with chemicals XD Maybe one day I'll get it done professionally in a nice bright color.
