caution: picture intense post! :D
On my 11th day of the trip I had morning classes.
For my outfit I chose this darker dress I ordered over about you to have more professional fits for work.
in combination with my henna it had summery vibe to it now haha.
For lunch I went to a hawker closeby..this one was so big and there were too many people!
I did not have much time and a lot of the stalls had long queues (which probably means the food is good over there lmao) but because I did not have much time I needed to just take a random one without a queue.
It was so warm in there..I ate something and immediately went back for my afternoon lesson: Chinese songs and pronounciations! :)
On my way out there was this vending machine...the drinks are soo cheap here! T.T
I applied for the gardens by the bay activity from school but had almost 3 hours inbetween so I wanted to visit ACM in my free time.
On my way there I walked past the theatre and these great statues <3
When entering I got greeted by shipwrecks.
I am not the person to read everything in a museum but sometimes it's so worth it.
I didn't know there is a hole in this cup!

I love historical museums like this...every time I would look at the details and think "skills like this are lost nowadays...that took a lot of work!"
That's an incense burner!
I remember I used to watch these chinese clips on xiaohongshu with different kind of incense burner and these videos were so calming...I was obsessed haha.
This one is so cool!
here too...I was amazed to read it was a hookah.
In all the museums I was in during my trip they had the shiniest jewelry and my camera couldn't take how shiny they were...You will see a lot more of those.
Just think that every jewelry you see is like 10x more shiny than on the picture..
The stones would blind you when it reflected the light.

This is a kettle!! T.T
I hoped the camera could take at least *some* of the details...try zooming in...it's insane.
"Today, headhunting had to be outlawed."- that means...it still exists?
Right...??
at first I wasn't really intrigued by the pagoda exhibition but I am still glad I looked through it.
To me these buildings all looked the same and afterwards I got to learn how interesting they can be.
I tried taking a picture of those that stood out to me most (for various reasons).
A man has shown me their little prize game.
It was a big sideboard with lots of little drawers in it and you had to pick one.
I won a cup carrier haha.
Some of the weaponry I have seen were really interesting.
I thought, why does that sword have to be "fancy" like this tho? xD
Look at this one...creepy and cool tbh.
I quickly walked through the religious aisle and then headed towards christian art.
I have always seen the middle east german kind of christian art...so I was like, how different can asian christian art be? apparently very different.
After that I have seen some ivory arts...again the details are INSANE.
The next exhibition was about fashion and jewelry (my favourite little side niches lmao)
After working with different techniques in art class while I was still in high school, I got a new thing for all these prints and manufacturing skills.
When looking at old prints (especially those who are very old) I wonder how the hell they made these.
I still can't get over it tbh.
Unfortunately the camera didn't take the text well...here is pictured "the tree of life" which was commonly used as a motive during the Tuan dynasty apparently.
There is something about old but also ancient jewelry that I find so interesting.
Each time I start to question our cheap "fashion"-jewelry.
as soon as you see the craftsmanship but also the shiny stones, you start asking yourself if it wouldn't be better to have few but valuable and striking pieces at home than a bunch of cheap acrylic stones that you threw in the trash as soon the trend is over...yknow?
Of course you wouldn't wear headpieces like this anymore, especially because when it's real gold it would be unaffordable lmao. I also believe only the wealthy used to wear this back in the days.
But I can imagine having some kind of modern version of these..a bit smaller maybe.
While walking through this exhibition I got a lot of ideas but most of them wouldn't quite fit within the retro vibe I currently have haha but maybe some dayy..
Also I am not exactly a gold person (I am a 100% a pearl lover lmao).
I can't quite remember why inmid of the jewelry pics I have weapons again but I know I took a pic of this as an example of the "fancy weaponry"...this dagger has shiny stones in it.
I loved these spider brooches!
I can't remember if it was this museum or the other but in lot's of historical corners you would see brooches like this to close the blouses they used to wear.
It's also an interesting idea...I don't think it is common to wear brooches anymore and if some do, they use it on side pockets or on their chest on a coat or something...but to connect a blouse or even a scarf over your shoulder would be nice I think.
I think it was a really cool idea of the museum to put these pictures behind the jewelry to showcase how they were worn! You immediately could understand better.
The last level had porcelaine and ceramics.
The craftmansship is amazing.

On my way out I collected my gift <3
I went back to school to meet with the group and then we went to the gardens by the bay.
A different scenery on the way back :)
We went with the MRT straight to the Gardens by the Bay.
Although I just wanted to take a picture of the logo, I now noticed all the cameras in the picture and I think that also sums up Singapore pretty well.
There are cameras in every...and I mean every...single corner.
Even in all the housing buildings.
You think you can scratch your butt because nobody is looking? The cameras caught it. xDDD
Jkkk.
I stopped ordering the pictures here for the rest of the post because the exact positions don't really matter now anymore...just enjoy all the pictures :)
We went into the flower dome afterwards.
I actually liked this one more..maybe because there were more flowers haha.
You can also tell by the pictures that it was getting dark outside.
I was surprised the sky would get dark so soon here...in germany during summer time you often still have sunlight after 9pm and here it could be slightly past 7pm and it would turn dark.
this picture is actually one of my favourite...I think I shot it very well.
It also smelled so nice in there.
Me and Verena sat a bit away to view the light show but personally we didn't like it much..it was like christmas led-lights to us...but around the trees in the tropics lmao.
I was so hungry and there was a shake shack right next to us...I never ate there and wanted to try it out.
Also I have never gotten fries with cheese?
I usually am not a fries-person but I am a cheese-person, so I picked that.
The burger was actually really good..I also liked the fries but it stuffed me sm haha.
We were already tired so headed back to the MRT.
For some reason I think we walked wrong, we had such a long way but it was also nice seeing a bit more nature haha.
Even the train stations are pretty here.
Wow! Such stunning pictures! I would have loved to visit these places!
返信削除It also always blows my mind how we humans have had all these intricate and master level skills and now there is not a trace of it except in museums. I get that a lot of stuff takes a lot of time and in some cases too many resources, but it still would be nice to do some forms of it today.
