Last Sunday I started tanning again and I thought I might share the whole process of tanning to you😃
Keep in note that your skin has more or less a "memory effect" and that's why it's going way faster on me than it would on someone who never tans.
I wish I could take pics in natural lighting but depending on wether its morning or evening, sun or rainy weather...the lighting changes and it would look always different on pictures.
That's why I never took pictures on my tanning review posts...I used to live at my parents house and every single room is flooded with natural light...so it was impossible to take accurate pics.
But now I live on my own and the bathroom light is literally always the same...so this is the most accurate pics I can take for you.♥️
I went tanning on sunday, tuesday, thursday and saturday...always keeping a day inbetween.
I wanted to use my protan lotion that I used last august but didnt convince me. In my theory I was just too tan for it to work, since it's only a "10x" accelerator. So I gave it another shot...will be posting a review about it soon.
I went to cabine 6, which is the weakest machine.
I will try to look next time how that machine is called.
(A very old one by ergoline thats for sure).
Here is the result♥️
I went in for 10 minutes first, went up to 15 minutes ,bcuz it didnt do anything to me, twice and on saturday I went for 18 minutes to see if I could handle switching to a stronger machine next week.
Which yup, is the case.
Going from 10 minutes to 15 minutes was bold btw haha.
Usually when you go tanning, only go up two minutes between every week!!
But like I already mentioned, my skin is used to tanning and remembers the dark tan so it can handle more than others.
How to tell you're going too fast or too much?
Feeling tension on the skin while tanning.
If it feels like your skin is "pulling" to the sides, it might be too strong. Also after your tanning sessions look if you got red spots on cheeks and chest.
If you got a red tint, then it was too much for your skin. Always be careful. Building up a tan is dedication. It takes weeks and several sessions to build up.
Over night I started toning my skin with a selftanner. I chose the bondi sands bcuz I recommended it for light skinned ppl on my review and was curious if I was right. This picture is after I took a shower this morning. I applied only one coat of the selftanner.
I always wash off the first coat, bcuz its like a sticky layer that can also color your clothings and it stinks.
I always use selftanner over night and shower the next morning. Prevent long showers or baths to make a tan more durable.
I think this picture also shows perfectly what I mean when I say that a selftanner is "toning" your skin.
The tan didnt get deeper, only more brownish/orange. I have an olive skin tone usually.
I also described in my review the tanner has a neutral brown color. I dont know wether because its a lil older now or bcuz I am stupid bcuz this time it was definitely green-tinted.
Next week I am going into cabine 4...the megasun machine...probably into caribic mode and start with 10 minutes again. I personally think this machine is amazing for deepening a tan.
