My whole body hurts ahh...
the WHOLE day I was cleaning plates and pots and glasses...
Even though the stuff was in boxes, I rather wanted everything clean before I eat from the dishware again.
I can walk into my apartment again...yay!!
It's getting somewhere luckily..
I love my kitchen so much already!
I am soo happy I decided to get a new one...although it wasn't quite cheap.
I got everything from my work except the sink.
I wanted to get one like in the videos from china.
These hightech-sinks...that are also very big.
Technically, If I had chosen a sink from work, I would get a sink half the size and with only a faucet.
But here for the same price I got a huge sink (perfect size btw) and with so many functions.
While I am writing this, I decided to make a short video to show you.
There is a soap dispenser on the left.
The silver button on the left side is to to close and open the drain in the sink below.
The button next to the timer is to change the temperature and the faucet right next to it is for drinking water.
The sink also includes two baskets to wash vegetable in it and a cutting board (meat and vegetable side), each you can put into the sink where the archings are.
There are a few con about the cheap-china-sink though because I have to be completely honest with you at all times:
1.The sink is not 100% straight...when my dad cut out the part on my countertop and put the sink in you notice the left and right side is slightly bent, the rims are also very sharp.
My dad was able to silicone it in a way that it is closed and you can't accidentally cut yourself.
It is barely noticeable and probably no one will know but me.
2.It is a pain to connect everything, also because they send no instructions (not even in english)...there were one paper with some information but they didn't help my dad at all.
In fact, it is still not connected correctly and I have a bowl underneath to catch the water dripping because somewhere...is still a leakage?
3.Like I said, there is barely any instructions and we have none for the drinking faucet...We have no idea how to connect it so it is not operational right now.
4.I personally don't like that the temperature shows only when the water is on. Since there are no lettering on the button, you don't really know how far you have to twist it and the only way to find out is to waste water while you do it. I wish they would at least show the temperature while twisting the button, so you can put your settings in before turning on the water. I mean of course it needs to heat up but then I know how far to turn it if you get what I mean?
BUT despite these few points, the sink is absolutely awesome.
I get ALL of that for approx. 190€? (free shipping).
That's a steal. Especially if you know how to install these kind of things (like my dad) and can fix it if something is not working appropriately.
I also wanted to try out my new coffee machine.
I still had some capsules left from last time I used a machine like this at work.
(I need to buy capsules first).
Even though they have shown the dimensions and I measured everything I just noticed how small and cute the machine is haha.
I said it looks like my dog as a coffee machine, black and tiny.
I rather have a small one like this.
I am not sure if I mentioned it in December when I got it as a gift from my family but I used to have a big coffee machine where you put beans in it and it was just very heavy and you had to take care of it a lot...like it would constantly mold in it and it made me really frustrated.
It makes you feel like there is something wrong with you but it is just that you rarely use it.
A machine like that makes only sense for heavy coffee drinker and maybe if you are more people living in the home that would use it.
Also you could only get black coffee with it...exactly what I am not drinking?
The machine was a gift from my grandparents, they got a new one and gave me theirs, so I am not complaining that I at least had one the past years.
I am thankful to have a wonderful family that would give me a coffee machine after all.
With this small machine I have barely any dirt, except maybe the capsules as trash but I am not home often, so it won't be that much I think.
Since it's small I don't need to clean a lot beside maybe the catch tank and the little strainer below the machine. I have no idea how it's called in German either so I can't even look up a translation lmao.
Also they offer a variety of flavors (even tea) and there are many that I would drink, like for example cappuccino, white chocolate or chai latte.
I have let it clean itself approx.4-5 times before use.
Success!
I need to check how many ml you can get with one capsule and change the settings because I think this is not enough for a medium sized drink?
You can already see some of my kitchen in the background, but here are the things that still have to get done:
1. I ordered some LED-lights to put underneath the cupboards.
2. fix the sink of course
3. I had to rip off some of my wallpaper because the older kitchen was slightly bit bigger than this one now. We have to apply a row of wallpaper again.
4. We need one framework for the socket (behind my coffee machine). We had to put the socket to a different place because I changed the placement of the sink and I did not want to have a socket right next to the sink?
5. Because my measurements were wrong, two filler panels are too narrow. I have already ordered two bigger ones but it usually takes a couple weeks to arrive.
(or they were not exactly "wrong" but the tiles that I ripped off made a lot of difference actually)
But beside that, I think we are done? At least I can't think of anything else right now haha.
I am going to show you next to a picture of the old kitchen how everything looks!<3
